Speak, Draft help and Catch me up

Three kinds of AI help. Each result lands where you read it first, and nothing is posted to a chat by itself.

Speak

Speak sits beside Dictate in the message box, and works where Dictate can't. Press it, talk, then press Stop: the words appear as text in your message box, and you edit them before you send.

The first time, a note says what happens: Your recording goes through AChat's server to a speech-to-text company, which turns it into text you can edit before you send it. That company is named on the Privacy page, AChat doesn't keep the recording, and "Not now" lets you type instead.

A recording stops by itself at the same time limit as a voice note, and is then turned into text. If the connection drops, your recording stays on the device so you can try again.

Draft help

Draft help is the sparkle button in the message box. It offers Rewrite, Shorten and Translate (into English, Spanish, French, German or Arabic) for the text you've written. Only the words in your message box are sent.

The suggestion shows above the box with Keep mine and Use this text. Use this text replaces your draft and offers Undo.

Catch me up

Catch me up is in the header of an open anonymous room. It summarises the room's latest messages, up to 100, in your AChat language. Only you can see this summary. It can miss or misread something, so the messages themselves are the record.

It never appears in passworded rooms, personal chats or groups: those are end-to-end encrypted.

Before the first use

Draft help and Catch me up share one note: "Draft help" sends only the text in your message box, and "Catch me up" sends an open room's latest messages, up to 100, both through AChat's server to the AI companies named on the Privacy page. Only you see the result, nothing is posted to the chat by itself, and "Not now" sends nothing.

Both need an account. They show only while AI help can answer.

Your AI level and daily allowance

Account shows your AI level: Spark (fast and efficient), Pulse (sharper reasoning) or Surge (deepest thinking). Your plan sets the level for "Draft help" and "Catch me up". Each plan also sets how much AI help you have each day. When it runs out: Today's AI help is used up. It comes back tomorrow.

Where your data goes

From the Privacy page: "Speak" sends your recording to Groq, which turns it into text; AChat doesn't keep the recording. AI help goes to Anthropic, or OpenAI when Anthropic can't answer: "Draft help" sends your draft, and "Catch me up" sends an open room's latest messages, up to 100. Each runs only when someone starts it. Messages in end-to-end encrypted chats are never sent.
