Page tours and How AChat works
Two ways to learn AChat without leaving it: a short tour of the page you're on, and a six-step page about the whole app.
The page tour
Take a tour of this page is the signpost button in the header, just before Appearance. It is on Chats, Features, Plans and pricing, Communities and Account. On a phone it sits in the same top bar; on Account and Communities it sits at the end of the page heading.
The first time you open one of those pages, a short note points at the button: New here? Take a quick tour of this page. It shows once per page, and once is counted for your account, so a second device doesn't show it again. It goes by itself after a few seconds.
The tour highlights one part of the page at a time and says what it does.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Next, Back | Move one step; the arrow keys do the same |
| All steps | Lists every step, so you can jump to any of them |
| Skip tour, the close button, Esc | End the tour at once |
On a phone the step opens as a sheet from the bottom of the screen, or from the top when the highlighted part sits low.
A tour link with ?tour=3 at the end opens step 3.
How AChat works
How AChat works is six steps, each with the screen where it happens:
chats with the people you know, rooms without an account, groups and communities, status, what happens when the
connection drops, and the plans. Move with Next and Back, the arrow keys, or a swipe on a phone; ?step=3 opens
step 3.
You can open it from the Help column at the bottom of the public pages, the sitemap, the top of Account, and the Chats screen before you sign in.
